1. Objectives:
(1)
Understand the life cycle , pathogenesis, diagnosis and the
morphological aspects related to diagnosis.
(2)
Understand the mechanism as to why amastigote can live in macrophges.
(3)
Be familiar with epidemiology and prevention of the three protozoans.
2 . Contents:
(1)
The life cycle of Leishmania
donovani; the shape of amastigote and promastigote;
the mechanism as to why amastigote can live in
macrophges; the clinical aspects of leishmaniasis;
diagnostic method, transmission, epidemiology and
prevention of Leishmania
donovani.
(2)
The shape of trophozoite and cyst of Giardia lamblia and its life cycle , pathogenesis, diagnosis,
transmission, epidemiology and prevention.
(3)
The shape of trophozoite of Trichomonas
vaginalis and its life cycle , pathogenesis,
diagnosis, transmission, epidemiology and prevention.
