        Chapter 16 Antipyretic-Analgesic Agents
1.Objectives
The pharmacological effects, uses and side effects of aspirin, acetaminophen, phenobutazone. The mechanism of action of these drugs and their side effects.
2.Teaching content
Pharmacological effects of antipyretic-analgesic agents. Inhibition of the synthesis of prostaglandin via inhibition of cyclooxygenase(COX).
(1)Salicylates: aspirin: pharmacokinetics, pharmacological effects, clinical uses and side effects.
(2)Acetaminophen: pharmacological effects and side effects.
(3)The characteristics of phenobutazone, amidazofen and alginodia.
(4)Others (indomethacin,mefenamic, clofenamic acid,ibuprofen )
