1.Objectives
Classification of antihypertensive agents. Pharmacological
effects and untoward effects of clonidine, α-methyldopa,
reserpine, guanethidine, prazosin, hydralazine, minoxidil,
diazoxide, β-adrenergic blocking drugs, captopril.
2.Teaching content
(1) The etiology of hypertension.
Ganglionic blockers: the clinical uses, untoward effects
and shortcoming of mecamylamine.
Agents that block postganglionic adrenergic neuron: the
characteristic, clinical uses of reserpine.
Agents that block adrenergic receptors: α-adernergic blocking
agents(prazosin, phentolamine), β-adrenergic blocking
agents.
(2) Vasodilator: the characteristic, uses and untoward
effects of hydralazine, diazoxide, minocidil, sodium nitroprusside.
(3) Diuretics: hydrochlorothiazide.
(4) Drugs that interfere with the renin- angiotensin system.
Angiotensin Ⅱ receptor blockers: losartan,
Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors: captopril.
Management principles of hypertension: drug seletion of
different stages of hypertension and hypertensive emergencies.
Combination of drugs, dosage individualization.
