      Chapter 28 Histamine and Antihistamine Drugs
1.Objectives
The relationship between histamine and allergy. The pharmacological effects and clinical uses of antihistamine drugs(H1 and H2 antagonists).
2.Teaching content
(1)Histamine: source, relationship with allergy, clinical uses.
(2)Antihistamine drugs:
H1 receptor antagonist (diphenhydramine, promethazine, chlorphenamine, buclizine): H1 receptor blockade, clinical uses, main untoward effects.
H2 receptor antagonist (cimetidine): H2 receptor blockade, clinical uses, main untoward effects.
Teaching hours: 1 (laboratory)
